We meet Saturday afternoons during term time from 4.30pm till 6 pm in the “Mac” Adam Music Centre, Port Macquarie. This purpose-built building is the home of the Port Macquarie Hastings Municipal Town Band and is situated behind the library and the open air swimming pool, and is diagonally opposite Players Theatre. Hifalootin’ is a teaching ensemble. Part of every session is devoted to building a sound flute technique in order to extend our playing repertoire. Our members are from early 3rd grade AMEB upwards. You will need to be able to read simple to moderately difficult music to enjoy this group. Opportunities will be available for more senior players to perform as soloists. Age is no barrier. If you have played before, and/or have played for a number of years but not for a while, this group is for you. Our broad-based repertoire includes folk songs, jazz, classical and baroque. We will perform publicly about once a term. Term fees $180. Entry is by audition, so please contact Sheriden to arrange an audition time. (The audition is simply to hear what you can do and is definitely fun, friendly and supportive).
